Alignment Marking Guide Diagram table

Defines the parameters to create alignment markings on adjoining parts to enable an easier welding process.

Guide Diagram

Shows a visual representation of how alignment markings are placed on the plate. The diagram dynamically reflects the chosen parameters.

Settings

Enabled

Select to enable creation of alignment markings.

If Enabled is not selected, the following sections appear grey.

Plates

Marking Shape

Select Triangle to enable triangle alignment markings. This is the default mode.

Select Line to enable line alignment markings:

Marking Size (a)

Defines the size of the marking. Defines both the height and width for a triangle, or the height for a line.

Corner Distance (b)

Defines the distance of the marking from any corner on the plate perimeter.

Edge Distance (c)

Defines the perpendicular distance from the plate edge to the marking location.

Use Welds Trace

When enabled, the application considers only physically connected portions of the trace when applying alignment markings. It ignores elements such as notches and cutouts.

Face Plates

Length (d)

Defines the length of the alignment marking.

Size (e)

Defines the size of the marking.

Corner Distance (f)

Defines the distance from the corner to the alignment marking.

Length Limit (g)

Defines the maximum face plate length for which only a single marking is placed. If a face plate exceeds this length, the system adds additional markings.
