Polyface

Creates a planar polyface (PFACE) surface from two or more existing curves, or three or more existing points. A polyface surface can have any shape with multiple planar faces.
You can create a planar polyface surface that extrudes from an existing polyface surface, forming geometry along multiple planar curves.

Create a polyface surface from curves
Before you begin, ensure you have at least two existing curves located on the same plane that will be used to create the polyface surface.

On the Common Reference tab, in the Create group, select Surface, then select Polyface from the dropdown list.
Creation by curves is the default behaviour.

Select a minimum of two curves.
In this example, four curves are selected to create the surface.

Press Enter to accept.
The application creates the new surface that follows the curves and stores it as a PFACE element.

Create a polyface surface from points
Before you begin, ensure you have at least three existing points located on the same plane (for example, corners of existing geometry) that will be used to create the polyface surface.

On the Common Reference tab, in the Create group, select Surface, then select Polyface from the dropdown list.

To create a polyface from points instead of curves, press the down arrow and select Points.

Select a minimum of three points.
Three points create a triangular face. Four or more points (for example, corners) create a multi‑sided face.
In this example, the four outer corners of the surface element are used:

press Enter to accept.
The application creates the new surface and stores it as a PFACE element.
