Tap

Panels are split into parts by seams. During the assembly process, these sections are welded together along the seams. To achieve a high-quality weld, the sections are sometimes extended with additional material, referred to here as taps.

Taps may be added when a seam passes across the following types of components. You can add taps on:​

• Intersection of seam and limit,

  

• Intersection of seam and hole,

  

• Intersection of seam and notch,

  

• Intersection of seam and cutout.

  

• Corner of panels.

You can visualize taps by enabling the Tap icon on the Production tab, in the Visibility group.

To delete a visualized tap, select the tap and press DEL on the keyboard.

The Properties grid displays the tap information, where you can manually edit the tap properties. For more information, see Modify tap code using Properties Grid.

Part Generation processes the tap information and adds extra material to the plates on the place where taps are defined.
