Instead of adding an expression to the rules as described in Manually Edit a Supports Rule Set, expressions can be entered into Property Manager so that they become available in the Data Description dropdown list of the Compref.

In the Paragon Supports application, on the Supports tab, in the Rules group, select to display the Supports Property Manager window:

The window opens with the Rule Type set to Ancillary Pipe Rule. The other option which can be selected in the dropdown list is Rule Set Rule.

Ancillary Pipe Rule

The Properties table for this rule type includes the columns:

  • Key: The PML 1 expression.

  • Display: Text The text that appears in the Date Description list when Compref is the Item.

  • Type: The type of attribute to check.

Default conditions appear dark grey and cannot be modified.

Add a New User-Defined Property

  1. Select Add Property .

A new row is added to the bottom of the table:

  2. Enter the PML 1 property in the Key cell:

  3. Enter the text that will appear in in the Display Text cell of the Rule Manager window:

  4. Select inside the Type cell, then select an attribute type from the dropdown list:

Note: The value displayed in the Type cell must match the attribute's type.

  5. (Optional) Repeat these steps to create rows for additional properties if required.

  6. Select Apply.

The new properties are created and stored in the database (DB) under CATA /RBS-Data and SECT /RBS-Property-Library.

If no hierarchy exists, the system displays the following message:

Important: If the hierarchy items do not already exist, selecting Yes causes the system to automatically create them in the current DB. Because of this, it is important that you are working in the correct DB before applying any changes.

Once the hierarchy has been created, the application automatically locates and uses the required hierarchy paths.

Rule Manager displays the new property for Compref in the Data Description dropdown list:

Delete a User-Defined Property

  1. Select Delete Property .

The selected row is removed from the table.

The Delete Property icon is enabled only when a property is selected in the table.

  2. Select Apply.

The property is removed from the DB.

Note: When modifications are made in Property Manager, the user must exit and re-enter Paragon to see the the new properties in the list. This is because the Ancillary Pipe Rule object needs to be regenerated. The system displays a notification message when regeneration is required:
