Production Model Inspector

The Production Model Inspector enables you to inspect and compare data extracted from a design model at different stages of the part-generation process.

Use this window to validate geometry, review production markings, and verify naming and labeling before fabrication.

Compare production stages

Use stage comparison to identify differences between two stages of the part-generation process.

The part-generation process consists of multiple stages that adapt geometry and calculate production-related information. The stages that are available depend on the geometry and the processing required for a specific model.

The following examples show typical stages in the part-generation process:

Initial

Represents the raw data extracted directly from the design model before marking, naming, labeling, or excess material is applied.

Preprocessing

Represents the production model prepared for manufacturing by normalizing and validating geometry.

Marking

Represents production markings applied to parts and plates.

Work with the detail view

The Detail view provides an option to show or isolate selected elements.

Isolated view

Displays only the selected element from the Tree view in the viewport, using first angle projection.

Control option visibility

Use to show or hide the following options in the 3D view:

GSDs

Displays geometrical specification data, such as triangles and lines, that define reference geometry.

Markings

Displays markings, such as material direction, molded lines, and production markings.

Labels

Displays component labels that identify plates, stiffeners, and other structural elements.

Connections

Displays connections between parts.

Con. Segments

Displays individual connection segments that make up a connection.

Shrinkage Contours

Displays contour zones that indicate expected shrinkage areas caused by fabrication processes.

Shrinkage Lines

Displays guide lines that indicate the direction or influence of shrinkage.

World Coordinate Axis

Displays the XYZ coordinate axis to indicate model orientation.

Tree view

Displays the hierarchical structure of all elements.

Viewport

Displays the part design and visual comparison results.
