Manually Edit a Supports Rule Set

It is possible to manually edit a Rule Set in the Rule Manager window.
Important: You must ensure manually edited rules do not conflict with the application defaults.
Example - Ancillary BT01A
The Pipe Specification Material Code for this ancillary is set to CS, as shown in the Standard tab of the Supports Ancillary Data dialog:

In this scenario, setting the Compref Material to SS with a final result of BT01A would be incompatible.
The bore range in the ancillary defaults is between 15mm and 200mm, as shown in the Parameters tab of the Supports Ancillary Data dialog:

The rule can be modified to restrict the range if required, for example, between 20mm and 150mm. However, setting the bore range to between 15mm and 250mm with a final result of BT01A would be incompatible.
Edit Rule Logic Elements
Continuing with the example, if BT01A is the required Ancillary on a frame type FT08, then a rule set can be automatically built using Ancillaries for Rules.

From the Ancillary for Rules window, make the appropriate ancillary, frame, and bore selections, and then open the Rule Manager window.
The Rule Manager window opens with the Logical Expressions tab displayed:

To add extra design conditions, select inside the Result cell in the final level and clear the cell contents.

This allows the user to add a new sub logic element.

A line for the new sub logic element appears.

Select inside the Item 1 cell to open the dropdown list, and then select Compref.

Select inside the Data Description 1 cell to open the dropdown list, and then select the required condition.

Select inside the Value cell and enter a specification, for example A1A.
This value makes the rule apply exclusively to pipes with a /A1A specification.

(Optional) The logic can be further modified to accept another specification:

(Optional) From here, you can create additional sub logic elements as required, or continue to the next step if no other restrictions apply.

Enter BT01A in the Result cell of the final line.

Example
This example shows how the rule set selects BT01A in Model.
If a user creates a support on a tube after an ELBO on an FT08 Goal Post, and the following conditons are met:

:MDSPIPEMAT of the PSPE of the BRAN is CS
-
LBOR is 100mm
-
Temperature of the BRAN is 100degC
-
NAMN of the PSPE of the BRAN is A1A
A BT01A U Bolt ancillary is selected automatically.
Add Extra Design Conditions
You can add additional design conditions when the default design conditions in the Compref Data Description list aren’t sufficient to select the most appropraite ancillary. These additional conditions can use any standard attribute or UDA of the PIPE or BRAN.
Note: The Compref is either a BRAN or a Component. The PML1 expression must therefore be in the attribute name of the PIPE or the BRAN (for example, ATTRIB NAME of PIPE or ATTRIB NAME of BRANCH).

Add an Expression
You can add a valid expression directly to a rule as follows:

In the Item column, select Expression from the dropdown list:

In the Description column, enter the required PML1 expression.

Select the required evaluator, then enter the required Value.
Make sure the attribute type matches the result. In this case, DUTY is a string attribute, the value must include single quotation marks.
If the expression is invalid, a tooltip explains the error:

To ensure rules are easy to read, avoid mixing conditions in the same rule.
