Divide

A panel can be divided using any model that defines a panel limit (for example, grid/coordinate plane, surface, panel, plane, or curve). The system replaces the original panel with two new panels.

To divide panels

  1. Select one or more panels to be divided.

  2. Select one or more dividers.

The system duplicates the panel. It adds the divider as a new limit to each copy. For each copy, it keeps the opposite side of the new limit. The system then divides each panel using all selected dividers and recreates both panels.

If the division succeeds:

  • The system keeps the remaining panel definitions unchanged.

  • Some definitions might no longer produce instances.

If the divider does not intersect the panel or cannot create a valid instance, the system does not use the new limit. In this case, it restores the panel to its original state.

If you divide a cloned panel, the application updates all panels in the clone accordingly. Each updated panel includes the duplicated limits and retains the appropriate side for each new limit.
