Rule Based Supports (RBS) Mode Configuration

This section describes how to configure rules that automatically select support ancillaries for multi discipline support frames using Rules Based Supports (RBS) Mode.
Each support frame type, such as a goalpost, is compatible with a defined set of ancillaries, such as U bolts or pipe shoes. Each ancillary is also valid only within specific model conditions, such as pipe bore or temperature ranges. These configurations are managed through the Structure and Ancillary Standard Defaults in the Paragon Supports application.
When you create a frame support in Model using RBS Mode, the application automatically selects an appropriate ancillary for each supported item (compref), so designers do not have to select ancillaries manually. To do this, evaluation rules are configured in Paragon to identify the correct ancillary type for each compref. The administrator can adjust these rules to ensure the selected ancillaries are compatible with the frame and are valid for the model conditions of the compref.
