Rotate a hole using a grip

Before you begin:

  1. Add part to Part Manager using Manufacturing Explorer.

  2. Show Part Inspector.

  3. Create an oval hole on the part.

  4. Turn on Grid snap to allow precise grid point selection.

  5. Make sure that feature creation mode is not active. Select the Esc key if necessary.

Procedure

  1. On the the 2D view, select a hole on the part.

    The grip functionality appears on the hole and shows the hole with a dashed outline.

  2. Select the Rotation Grip.

    The Rotation Grip turns red. Another hole with a solid line and a prompt appear.

  3. Rotate the solid-outline hole to the required direction.

    The angle appears relative to the hole's original direction.

  4. Select a new grid point that provides the required angle.

    The hole rotates from its original direction to the selected angle.
