Rule review

The rule review system checks whether items with rulesets comply with the rules and the original design intent. If you manually override a rule-based value, you can accept the value so the system does not highlight the discrepancy as a failure.

The rule review system only works for elements with a Rule Set Reference available. For more information, see Rule Set Reference. Special Case rules do not appear in the review.

A rule review control is available within the Connection Review window in Structures. For more information, see Review Connections.

Rules are evaluated and given one of the following four states, depending on whether the current value complies with the value expected by the rule:

  • Pass - Attribute matches the expected value from rule.

  • Accepted - Attribute does not match the expected value, but the value has been accepted.

  • Warning - Attribute does not match the expected value, but the value is in the valid values list.

  • Fail - Attribute does not match the expected value.

The rule review system can also be used in Programmable Macro Language (PML) customizations using the NetRuleReview and RuleReviewControl objects. RuleReviewControl is a PMLNetControl which allows use of the rule review user interface.

Use the following code to initialize NetRuleReview:

import 'RuleReviewControl'

handle (1000, 0)

-- Already imported, safe to ignore

endhandle

using namespace 'Aveva.Core.Presentation'

!netRuleReview = object NETRULEREVIEW()
