Rule acceptance

Attributes of the element which do not comply with the rule are highlighted as ‘failed’ by the review. In some cases, it may be necessary to override the rule, and accept a different value.

The rule review control allows users to accept a value which deviates from the rule, using the right-click menu. This functionality is dependent on the presence of two attributes:

  • ROKEYS - Rule override keys. Text array containing attribute names or design property keys for rules which have been accepted.

  • ROVALS - Rule override values. Text array containing the value of the attribute or property which has been accepted.

The two arrays are combined to form Key-value pairs, which helps to ensure the rule which has been accepted reverts to failed if the value is altered further.

If an element does not have the ROKEYS and ROVALS attributes, two Text Array User Defined Attributes (UDAs) named :udaRokeys and :udaRovals can be defined to make available the same behavior.

The rule acceptance feature is not available for element types which do not have the defined attributes or UDAs.
