Create a rectangular hole at a specified location using the prompts

Before you begin:

Add the part to Part Manager using Manufacturing Explorer.

Open the part in Part Editor.
Procedure

On the Part Editor tab, in the Create group, select Hole.

In the 2D view of the part, move the pointer over the part to show the prompt.

Select the Down Arrow key.
The options appear.

Select Designation (D).

Enter a standard hole designation for a rectangualr hole, for example, HR1480*680*40.

Select Enter.

Select Down Arrow.
The prompt appears with following options:

Select XY Position (X).

Enter an X value (mm), for example, 1700, and select the Tabulator key.

Enter a Y value (mm), for example, 2100, and select Enter.
The hole appears with a dashed outline at the specified location.

Select Down Arrow.
The prompt options appear.

Select Finish (F) and then Enter.
The application creates the rectangular hole at the specified location, and it appears with a solid outline.
