Understanding the properties of a notch

The Properties grid displays the attributes of the selected notch.

Designation

It defines the notch designation. You can modify the type and shape of the notch by selecting a specific notch from the Notch Selection window.

The designation determines the notch shape and type. Different designations produce different notch geometries.

Length

Displays the notch length.

Position

Displays the notch position using X and Y coordinates. The coordinates identify the notch location relative to the plate geometry.

Bevel

Defines the code of the bevel that contains information about the bevel used in the notch.

You can select a bevel code to specify the bevel characteristics used for manufacturing. For more information, refer to Bevel Code Selection window.

Design

Displays design-specific parameters for the notch.

Definition

Displays the parameters that define the notch geometry and manufacturing characteristics.

This Side

Displays chamfer and bevel information for one side of the notch.

Other Side

Displays chamfer and bevel information for the opposite side of the notch.

Misc

Displays additional information of the notch.
