Split a DRL item

Split a Delivery Request List (DRL) item into two separate items. The new DRL item contains the same material and links back to the same material take-off or part list as the original DRL item. Initially, the requested quantity for the new DRL item is set to 0. You can manually distribute the requested quantity between the two items.

You can split a DRL item when a part of the material quantity in the DRL item requires different handling. For example, when you want to replace a part of the material requirement by using a substitute material, you can split a DRL item into two: one DRL item that is substituted with a different material and another DRL item to retain the original material.

1. Navigate to the s21001 Delivery Request Lists screen.

2. To refresh the screen, select the F5 key.

3. In the Delivery Request List grid, select a row.

4. In the Line Item grid, select the DRL item you want to split.

5. On the s21001 menu, in the Add Positions group, select Split DRL Items.

   In the Line Item grid, a copy of the selected DRL item is created.

6. Select the General tab, select the copied DRL item, in the Requested Quantity field, enter the required quantity.

   You can manually distribute the requested quantity between the two DRL items you split.

7. (Optional) Enter the relevant details in other fields as required. For more information on all the fields, see s21001 Field descriptions.

8. On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Save.

   The selected DRL item is split into two separate items.
