Update the status of an ABoM

Update the status of an Advance Bill of Materials (ABoM). When you create an ABoM, the default value in the Status field is OPEN. The various statuses of an ABoM are as follows:

  • OPEN: Indicates the ABoM requirements are not included in the material status calculations.

  • CLOSED: Indicates the ABoM requirements are released for purchase and the ABoM is closed.

  • CHANGE: Indicates the ABoM is reopened to make updates to the ABoM.

  • RETIRED: Indicates the ABoM requirements are retired and not considered in the material status calculations.

To update the status of an ABoM

  1. Navigate to the s21002 Advance Bill of Materials - ABoM screen.

  2. In the Current Project control block, from the Project dropdown, select the ID of the required project.

  3. To refresh the screen, select the F5 key.

  4. In the Advance Bill of Materials grid, select a row.

  5. On the s21002 menu, in the Options group, perform one of the following:

    • To update the status of an ABoM from the open stage to the closed stage, select Closed.

      Note: In the Advance Bill of Materials grid, in the General tab, in the System and the Activity fields, ensure values are defined.

    • To update the status of an ABoM from the closed stage to the open stage, select Change.

    • To update the status of an ABoM from the closed stage to the retired stage, select Retired.

  6. (Optional) To revert the status update, on the s21002 menu, in the Status group, select Reset status change.

  7. To save the changes, on the Home menu, in the Record group, select Save.
