Return a left over hull material

Return a left over material to stock. You cannot return the left over hull material quantity which exceeds the picked hull material quantity.

For a hull plate material, the left over material is the sum area of the returned material. The sum area of the left over hull plate material cannot exceed the sum area of the picked material. For a hull profile material, the left over material is the sum length of the returned material. The sum length of the left over hull profile material cannot exceed the sum length of the picked material.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, complete the following:

• Ensure a Purchase Order (PO) number is created in the s50018 Purchase Order screen and referenced for the left over hull material in the Leftover Steel PO Number field, in the Hull Material Control tab, in the d0073 ERM System Settings dialog.

• Ensure all the material details of the left over hull material is updated with the details of the original picked material from the s30017 Hull Plate and Profile Catalogue screen.

• Ensure a nesting ID is created for the project in the s30002 Nesting info - Hull screen.

To return a left over hull material

1. Navigate to the s30010 Hull Material Left Over screen.

2. To refresh the screen, select the F5 key.

3. In the Original Hull Material section, perform the following:

   • From the Project dropdown, select the ID of the project related to a Delivery Request List (DRL) of a picked hull material.

   • From the Nesting ID dropdown, select the nesting ID of the picked hull material.

   • From the DRL Number dropdown, select the DRL number related to the picked hull material.

   • From the Hull Material Id dropdown, select the ID of the picked hull material.

4. In the New Hull Material section, perform the following:

   • In the Hull Material Id field, enter the hull material ID of the left over material.

   • In the L field, enter the length of the left over hull material.

   • In the b field, enter the breadth of the left over hull material.

5. In the Storage section, perform the following:

   • From the Site dropdown, select the code to identify a site where the left over hull material is stored.

   • From the Storehouse dropdown, select the code to identify a storehouse within the site.

   • From the Location dropdown, select the code to identify a specific location within the storehouse.

6. On the s30010 menu, in the Actions group, select Return Hull Material.

   To handle the left over hull material, a PO position is created in the PO selected in the Leftover Steel PO Number field, in the Hull Material Control tab, in the d0073 ERM System Settings dialog.

   A receiving transaction is created in stock in the s60028 Stock Item Delivery Registration screen, and a corresponding finance transaction is created for the received hull material of value 0 in the s10013 Financial Stock Transactions screen.

   In the s60016 Stock Card screen, the new hull material holding is available for the selected project.
