Create a default material type

Create a default material type used when a material is created in AVEVA Enterprise Resource Management by an external application, such as AVEVA E3D, AVEVA Marine, and so on.

1. Navigate to the s20004 Material Type Defaults screen.

2. To refresh the screen, select the F5 key.

3. On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Create.

   In the Material Types grid, a blank row is created.

4. Select the General tab and perform the following:

   • In the Material Type Code field, enter the unique code of a material type.

   • In the Description field, enter the description of the material type.

   • From the Material Category dropdown, select the ID of the required material category.

   • From the Material Special Group dropdown, select the code of the required material special group.

   • From the Unit dropdown, select the code of the default unit of measure.

5. (Optional) Enter the relevant details in other fields as required. For more information on all the fields, see s20004 Field descriptions.

6. On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Save.

   The default material type is created.
