Create a resource

Create a global resource or a project specific resource. You can create different types of resources such as department, utility, machine, external resource, and production group.

Navigate to the s00021 Resource Definition screen.

In the Control Block, perform one of the following:

To create a global resource, select Global.

To create a project specific resource, from the Project dropdown, select the ID of the required project.

To refresh the screen, select the F5 key.

Select anywhere in the Resources grid.
Note: To create a child resource, in the Resources grid, select the required parent resource. For more information on resource hierarchy, see Resource hierarchy overview.

On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Create.
In the Resources grid, a row is created.

Select the General tab and then perform the following:

In the Identification field, enter the unique ID of a resource.

From the Calendar dropdown, select the ID of a calendar for the resource.

In the Default Cost field, enter the default cost per unit of the resource.

From the Resource Type field, select the ID of the type of the resource.

(Optional) Enter the relevant details in other fields as required. For more information on all the fields, see s00021 Field descriptions.

On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Save.
The resource is created.
