Create a document type

A document type is used to identify the category and purpose of a document. You can define multiple document types for a document class, such as, quality, engineering, contracting, fabricating, maintenance, reports, and so on.

Navigate to the s20007 Document Types screen.

To refresh the screen, select the F5 key.

On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Create.
In the Document Types grid, a blank row is created.

Select the General tab and enter the relevant details in the following fields:

Document Type Code: The unique code of a document type.

Description: The description of the document type.

(Optional) Enter the relevant details in other fields as required. For more information on all the fields, see s20007 Field descriptions.

On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Save.
The document type is created.
