Create a supply responsibility rule

A supply responsibility rule determines the default setting for the For Requisition and the For Construction checkboxes for a requisition process when you add a new item to a part list or material take-off. You can create a rule based on specific values for an attribute or a range of values for an attribute.

Navigate to the s21018 Supply Responsibility Matrix screen.

In the Current Project control block, from the Project dropdown, select the ID of the required project.

To refresh the screen, select the F5 key.

On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Create.
In the Supply Responsibility Setup grid, a blank row is created.

In the Supply Responsibility Setup grid, select the General tab, and perform the following:

In the Sequence No field, enter the required sequence number to determine the priority of the rule.
If multiple rules apply to an item, then the value defined in the Sequence No field determines the priority of the rule.

From the Requisition Process dropdown, select the ID of the required requisition process.

(Optional) To create a supply responsibility rule for the System attribute, perform one of the following:

To create a rule for items where the value in the System Id field contains a defined value, perform the following:

From the Operator dropdown, select Contains.

In the Value field, enter a value.

To create a rule for items where the value in the System Id field ends with a defined set of characters, perform the following:

From the Operator dropdown, select Ends With.

In the Value field, enter a value.

To create a rule for items where the value in the System Id field matches a defined value, perform the following:

From the Operator dropdown, select Equals To.

From the Value dropdown, select a value.

To create a rule for items where the System Id field is empty, from the Operator dropdown, select Is Empty.

To create a rule for items where the value in the System Id field falls between a range, perform the following:

From the Operator dropdown, select Range.

From the From dropdown, select the first value of the range.

From the To dropdown, select the last value of the range.

To create a rule for items where the value in the System Id field begins with a defined set of characters, perform the following:

From the Operator dropdown, select Starts With.

In the Value field, enter a value.

Note: To create a supply responsibility rule for other attributes, repeat step 6.

On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Save.
The supply responsibility rule is created.
