Create a custom property

A custom property can include a date, number, text, boolean value, or a list of predefined values related to an entity.

  1. Navigate to the s00034 Custom Property Definition screen.

  2. In the Current Entity control block, from the Entity dropdown, select the ID of an entity.

  3. Select the Custom Property tab.

  4. To refresh the screen, select the F5 key.

  5. On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Create.

    In the CustomProperty grid, a row is created.

  6. Select the General tab and perform the following:

    1. In the Column Name field, enter the unique ID of a custom property.

    2. In the Property Name field, enter the name of the custom property.

    3. In the Custom Property Caption field, enter the description for the custom property.

    4. From the Type dropdown, select the type of the custom property, and then perform one of the following:

      • If the value in the Type field is Value List or Lookup, then from the Value List dropdown, select the ID of a value list for the custom property.

      • If the value in the Type field is One to Many, then from the Custom Entity dropdown, select the name of the custom entity for the custom property.

    5. In the Length field, enter the length of characters for the custom property.

  7. (Optional) Enter the relevant details in other fields as required. For more information on all the fields, see s00034 Field descriptions.

  8. On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Save.

    A pop-up window appears.

  9. Read the warning message and then select Yes.

    The custom property is created for the selected entity.
