Create a system

A system is a part of a project structure and you can use the system to set up the project budget. You can divide a project into multiple systems and efficiently collect the cost of materials, work hours, subcontracted tasks, and other expenses related to each system in the project.

The structure of a project consists of connected systems and nodes. A system is related to other systems in the project through different nodes or levels. For more information, see s10004 Set-up Project Structure and Systems.

  1. Navigate to the s10002 Systems screen.

  2. To refresh the screen, select the F5 key.

  3. On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Create.

    In the Systems grid, a blank row is created.

  4. Select the General tab and enter the relevant details in the following fields:

    • System Id: The unique ID of a system.

    • Name: The name of the system.

  5. (Optional) Enter the relevant details in other fields as required. For more information on all the fields, see s10002 Field descriptions.

  6. On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Save.

    The system is created.
