Validate all pipelines in a project to use the pipelines in the s22040 Piping MTO screen.

The Validate Pipeline functionality ensures that the specification values used to define a pipeline are valid when compared to the specifications created in the s81210 Specifications screen.

You can check the following conditions when you validate a pipeline:

  • Ensure the main size of a pipe is a valid size and the main size exists in the s81210 Specifications screen.

  • Ensure the fluid code related to the pipeline is linked to a specification in the s81210 Specification screen.

  • Ensure the corrosion allowance value related to a pipeline matches the specification defined in the s81210 Specifications screen or fits within a fluid code defined in the s22004 Fluid Codes screen.

  • Ensure the design temperature and pressure values of the pipe match the design temperature and pressure values specified for the fluid code related to a pipeline.

  • Ensure the operating temperature and pressure values of the pipe match the operating temperature and pressure values specified for the fluid code related to a pipeline.

Appropriate warning messages are displayed when the conditions listed are not met.

  1. Navigate to the s22020 Pipelines screen.

  2. In the Current Project control block, from the Project dropdown, select the required project ID.

  3. To refresh the screen, select the F5 key.

  4. In the Pipelines grid, select a row.

  5. On the s22020 menu, in the Validate group, select Validate Pipelines.

  7. (Optional) To clear any warning messages, perform the following:

    1. Update the relevant fields as required.
