Create a fabricate template

  • Last UpdatedMay 07, 2026

Use a fabricate template to automatically populate the items in a fabricate part list when the ID of a fabricate matches a template expression defined in the s20026 Fabricate Template screen.

For example, in the s20026 Fabricate Template screen, you can create a fabricate template with the template expression defined as PSH-{width}-{height}-{length}. Then, in the s21015 Fabricate Part Lists screen, if you create a part list for a fabricate named PSH-200-200-450, you can use the Re-apply Fabricate Template functionality to match the fabricate ID against the template expression and automatically copy all the items in the fabricate template to the fabricate part list.

You can create project specific, catalogue specific, or generic fabricate templates.

  1. Navigate to the s20026 Fabricate Template screen.

  2. To refresh the screen, select the F5 key.

  3. On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Create.

In the Fabricate Template grid, a blank row is created.

  4. Select the General tab and enter the relevant details in the following fields:

    • Fab Template Id: The unique ID of a fabricate template.

    • Description: The description of the fabricate template.

    • Template: The template expression to match the dimensions of the fabricate.

    • Sequence: The sequence number of the fabricate template. The value in the Sequence field determines which template to use when multiple template expressions match the fabricate.

  5. (Optional) Perform one of the following:

    • To make the fabricate template project specific, from the Project dropdown, select the ID of the required project.

    • To make the fabricate template catalogue specific, from the Catalogue dropdown, select the ID of the required catalogue.

  6. (Optional) Enter the relevant details in other fields as required. For more information on all the fields, see s20026 Field descriptions.

  7. On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Save.

    The fabricate template is created.
