The default value defined for a custom property is used when a new record is created in a screen related to an entity. You cannot define a default value for a value list lookup query that has mapped parameters.

  1. Navigate to the s00034 Custom Property Definition screen.

  2. In the Current Entity control block, from the Entity dropdown, select the ID of an entity.

  3. To refresh the screen, select the F5 key.

  4. Select the Custom Property tab, in the CustomProperty grid, select a row.

  5. On the s00034 menu, in the group, select Set Default Value.

The d0239 Custom Property Default Value Set dialog appears.

  6. Perform one of the following:

    • If the field is a text box, in the field, enter the default text.

    • If the field is a dropdown, from the dropdown, select the default value.

  7. Select Save.

  8. On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Save.

    A pop-up window appears.

  9. Read the warning message and then select Yes.

The default value is defined for a custom property.
