A punch list is a list of actions required to be completed against the material before sign-off. You can create a punch list multiple times throughout the life cycle of a purchase order. For example, you can create a punch list to rectify an item that failed in a release inspection visit.

You can create, track, and close a work item related to a punch list.

  1. Navigate to the s52007 Inspection Visits Items screen.

  2. To refresh the screen, select the F5 key.

  3. In the Inspection Header grid, select a row.

  4. Select the Visits tab and select a row.

  5. On the s52007 menu, in the Inspection Options group, select Create Punchlist.

The d0350 Create Work Item with Actions dialog appears.

  6. To refresh the dialog, select the F5 key.

  7. Select anywhere in the Work Item grid and select Create.

In the Work Item grid, a row is created with the value in the Context field as PUNCH.

  8. To create an action for the work item, select anywhere in the Actions grid, and then select Create.

In the Actions grid, a row is created.

  9. Select the General tab and perform the following:

    • From the Department dropdown, select the department responsible for the action.

    • From the Deadline dropdown, select the due date for the action.

    • In the Description field, enter the description for the action.

  10. In the Indicate which item is assigned with notification action section, in the All Items section, select the items you want to assign, and then select the right arrow.

The selected items appear in the Assigned Items section.

  11. (Optional) To send an email to the user responsible for the action, select the Send Work Item Message to Responsible checkbox.

  12. Select Ok.

The punch list work item and the actions related to the work item are created.
