Create an implied item rule for a material

Create an implied item rule for a material and define the conditions under which the implied item rule is applicable for a Material Take-Off (MTO) item or a part list item. You can define the quantity of the implied item for an MTO item or a part list item.

Navigate to the s21016 Implied Item Rules screen.

In the Current Project control block, from the Project dropdown, select the ID of the required project.

Select anywhere in the Part List Item Rules grid.

On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Create.
In the Part List Item Rules grid, a row is created.

In the Part List Item Rules grid, select the General tab and perform the following:

From the Rules Basis dropdown, select Material.

From the Rule Type dropdown, select one of the following:

Substitute: To create a rule to replace the defined quantity of a source item with another item.

Implied: To create a rule to add implied items to the source item.

In the Id field, enter the unique ID of an implied item rule.

In the Description field, enter the description of the implied item rule.

In the Quantity field, enter the quantity of an MTO item related to the implied item rule.
For example, for flanges, if the value in the Quantity field is set as 2, the system applies the rule for each instance of 2 flanges.

From the Material Id dropdown, select the the ID of an item for which you want to create the implied item rule.

Select anywhere in the Part List Item Rule Details grid.

On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Create.
In the Part List Item Rule Details grid, a row is created.

In the Part List Item Rule Details, select the General tab and perform the following:

From the Rules Basis dropdown, select Material.

In the Quantity field, enter the quantity of the implied item.

From the Material Id dropdown, select the ID of the implied item.

On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Save.
The implied item rule is created for a material.
