Set a position number increment for a line type to use in procurement documents of a project. For example, for a project, if you set the position number increment of a Purchase Order (PO) at 10, and add two line items, the position of the new line items are set 10 and 20 respectively. You can also manually modify the position number of the line items. For example, if you modify the second line item to 16, then the third line item is set at 20.

When you set a project specific increment value for a line type, the project specific increment takes precedence over the default increment.

  1. Navigate to the s10023 Procurement Position Number Setup screen.

  2. To refresh the screen, select the F5 key.

  3. On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Create.

In the Project Specific Setup grid, a blank row is created.

  4. Select the General tab, from the Project dropdown, select the project for which you want to set up position increments.

  5. Enter the relevant details in the following fields:

    • PA Pos Increment: The position number increment of a Purchase Agreement line item related to a project.

    • PO Pos Increment: The position number increment of a PO line item related to a project.

    • RFQ Pos Increment: The position number increment of an Request For Quote line item related to a project.

    • TMR Pos Increment: The position number increment of a Technical Material Requisition line item related to a project.

  6. To select a line type, perform any of the following:

    • From the Regular Line Item dropdown, select a line type.

    • From the Sub-Items dropdown, select a line type.

    • From the RFQ Follow-up Additional Cost dropdown, select a line type.

  7. (Optional) Enter the relevant details in other fields as required. For more information on all the fields, see s10023 Field descriptions.

  8. On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Save.

The position number increments of the line types for the selected project are set.
