Use a hyperlink restriction to restrict access to unauthorized hyperlinks.

A regular expression defined in a hyperlink restriction is used to analyze and restrict hyperlinks created in different screens throughout AVEVA Enterprise Resource Management. For example, you can create a hyperlink restriction using the regular expression www.aveva-external.com and set the restriction type to Disabled. When you use the Attachments tab available in different screens to create a hyperlink attachment that contains the regular expression www.aveva-external.com in the URL, then an error message appears and you cannot save the hyperlink attachment.

  1. Navigate to the s00040 Hyperlink Restrictions screen.

  2. To refresh the screen, select the F5 key.

  3. On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Create.

In the Restriction Types grid, a blank row is created.

  4. Select the General tab and enter the relevant details in the following fields:

    • Id: The unique ID of a hyperlink restriction.

    • Regular Expression: The alphanumeric pattern used to identify an unauthorized website.

  5. From the Restriction Type dropdown, select one of the following:

    • To warn a user when a hyperlink leads to an unauthorized website, select Warning.

    • To block a user when a hyperlink leads to an unauthorized website, select Disabled.

  6. On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Save.

    The restriction type is created.
