Define a sequence for a sequence number format

A sequence is a combination of static texts or automatically incrementing numbers. You can define a number from which a sequence starts. You can also define a number by which the sequence increments.

Navigate to the s10022 Numbering Setup screen.

In the Current Project control block, from the Project dropdown, select the required project ID.

To refresh the screen, select the F5 key.

In the Numbering Sequence Formats grid, select a row.

In the Positions grid, select the Sequence tab, and select anywhere in the Numbering Sequence Elements grid.

On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Create.
In the Numbering Sequence Elements grid, a blank row is created.

Select the General tab, from the Type dropdown, perform one of the following:

Select Text, in the Text field, enter the text required to be prefixed, suffixed, or contained within a number.

Select Sequence Generator and perform the following:

In the Sequence Generator Length field, enter the required length for a sequence.

In the Sequence Generator Start field, enter the number from which a sequence starts.

In the Sequence Generator Increment field, enter the number by which a sequence increments.

(Optional) Enter the relevant details in other fields as required. For more information on all the fields, see s10022 Field descriptions.

On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Save.
The sequence is defined for the selected sequence number format.
