Assign a fabricate to a work order

Assign a fabricate to a work order in the s21004 Relate Fabricates to Work Order screen as an alternative to assigning the fabricate to a work package using the Fabrication Kitting functionality in the s11001 Project Gantt View and s70001 Construction Gantt View screens. When you assign a fabricate to a work order, the fabricate is automatically assigned to the parent work package of the work order in the s11001 Project Gantt View and s70001 Construction Gantt View screens.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, complete the following:

In the s20012 Drawing Catalogue screen, perform the following:

Create a drawing related to the project. For more information, see Create a drawing.

In the General tab, ensure the value in the External Status field of the drawing is Fully Validated.

In the s20017 Fabricate Catalogue screen, perform the following:
-
Create a fabricate. See Create a fabricate.

In the General tab, ensure the following:

The value in the External Status field is Fully Validated.

The value in the Fabricate Category field is Make Fabricate.

The value in the Internal Status field is Released for Purchase.

In the s21015 Fabricate Part Lists screen, perform the following:

Create a fabricate part list for the fabricate. See Create a fabricate part list.

Ensure you add either standard materials or project components to the fabricate part list. See Add standard materials to a fabricate part list and Add project components to a fabricate part list.

Issue the fabricate part list. See Issue a fabricate part list.

In the s21000 Part Lists screen, perform the following:

Create a part list related to the drawing. See Create a part list.

Add the fabricate to the part list. See Add fabricates to a part list.

Ensure the value in the Planning Status field of the part list is Totally Planned.

Issue the part list. See Issue a part list.

Select the issued part list. On the Administration menu, in the Jobs group, select Material status to execute the material status calculation.

To assign a fabricate to a work order
-
Navigate to the s21004 Relate Fabricates to Work Order screen.

In the Current Project control block, perform the following:

From the Project dropdown, select the ID of a project related to a fabricate.

From the Activity dropdown, select the ID of a work package related a work order.

From the Work Order dropdown, select the ID of a work order to which you want to assign the fabricate.

To refresh the screen, select the F5 key.

Select the Fabricates tab, in the Fabricates grid, select a row.

In the Sel Qty field, enter the quantity of the fabricate that you want to assign to a work order.
Note: When the value in the Sel Qty field exceeds the Working Quantity of the fabricates defined in the s21000 Part List screen, a warning appears indicating that the materials required to construct the fabricate are insufficient.

On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Save.
The fabricate is assigned to the work order and the quantity of the fabricate is updated in the On WO and On WP fields.
