View material shortage

A shortage of a material occurs when the Balance of the material becomes less than zero, that is, the requirements are higher than the available holding at a particular time. The available holding is the sum of the material stock holding and the material quantities from purchase orders in the status Issued that are not yet delivered.

You can identify whether a site has insufficient materials as compared to the material requirements of the project. You can plan the usage of existing materials and procurement of additional materials with the help of warnings in the Alarm (A) and Location Critical (LC) fields, and the material quantity in the Balance field. To add materials to a Technical Material Requisition (TMR), see Add materials to a TMR from a material status list.

  1. Navigate to the s50022 Material Status List screen.

  2. Select the Purchasing View tab.

  3. To refresh the screen, select the F5 key.

  4. In the Material grid, select a row.

  5. View the following:

    • In the A field, check for a warning icon that indicates material shortage.

    • In the LC field, check for a warning icon that indicates material shortage at a specific site.

  6. In the Site grid, select a row, and in the Balance field, view the quantity of the remaining material for each site in comparison to the material requirements.
