Create a text to numeric size conversion

Create textual size to numeric size conversion values. Use the conversion values when you define the size of a standard material in the s20011 Standard Materials screen.

For example, to create a text to number conversion for a material size, in the s20027 Material Size Text to Number Conversion screen, you can define the value in the Text Size field as 1/8 and the value in the Numeric Size field as 0.125. In the s20011 Standard Materials screen, in the Measurement Scheme Representations tab, when you define the Size 1 (Display) field of a standard material as 1/8, then the value in the Size 1 (Numeric) field is automatically updated to 0.125.

1. Navigate to the s20027 Material Size Text to Number Conversion screen.

2. To refresh the screen, select the F5 key.

3. On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Create.

   In the Material Size Text to Number Conversion grid, a blank row is created.

4. Select the General tab and enter the relevant details in the following fields:

   • Text Size: The textual representation of a size for which a numeric value is defined.

   • Numeric Size: The numeric value of a size added to a standard material when the textual size representation of the standard material matches the value in the Text Size field.

5. (Optional) Enter the relevant details in other fields as required. For more information on all the fields, see s20027 Field descriptions.

6. On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Save.

   The text to numeric size conversion is created.
