Substitute a site MTO item

Substitute a site Material Take-Off (MTO) item with an approved substitute material.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, complete the following:

  • In the Site MTO grid, in the General tab, if the value in the Origin field of a site MTO is PMTO or GMTO, perform the following:

    1. In the Status tab, in the Engineering Update field, ensure the value is Ongoing or Changed.

    2. In the Status tab, in the MTO Status field, ensure the value is Open.

  • In the Site MTO grid, in the General tab, if the value in the Origin field of a site MTO is Manual, then in the Status tab, in the MTO Status field, ensure the value is Open.

  • For the material added as the site MTO item, ensure a substitute material is defined and approved in the s20023 Material Substitution and Deviation screen. Ensure the material substitution is defined for the project related to the site MTO.

To substitute a site MTO item

  1. Navigate to the s23001 Site MTO screen.

  2. In the Current Material control block, from the Project dropdown, select the ID of the required project.

  3. To refresh the screen, select the F5 key.

  4. In the Site MTO grid, select a row.

  5. In the Material Details grid, select the item you want to substitute.

  6. On the s23001 menu, in the Add Position group, select Material Substitutions.

    The d0269 Material Substitutions dialog appears.

  7. To refresh the dialog, select the F5 key.

  8. In the Approved Substitutions grid, select a substitute material.

  9. Select Substitute.

    In the Material Details grid, the substitute material appears.

  10. (Optional) Enter the relevant details in other fields as required. For more information on all the fields, see s23001 Field descriptions.

  11. On the Home menu, in the Record group, select Save.

    The selected site MTO item is substituted.
