Copy a project component to a project

Copy one or more project components from a source project to a target project.

1. Navigate to the s20010 Project Components screen.

2. In the Current Project control block, from the Project dropdown, select the required project ID.

3. To refresh the screen, select the F5 key.

4. In the Project Component grid, select a project component you want to copy.

5. On the s20010 menu, in the Project Component Actions group, select Copy to Project.

   The d0027 Copy Project Component to Project dialog appears.

6. From the Target Project dropdown, select a project ID.

7. (Optional) In the Options section, perform any of the following:

   • To include the supplementary items related to the project component in the copy, select the Include Supplementary Items checkbox.

   • To include the translated descriptions of a project component in the copy, select the Include Translated Descriptions checkbox.

   • To include the inactive project components in the copy, select the Include Inactive Components checkbox.

8. In the Components to copy section, select one of the following:

   • All: To copy all project components from the source project to the target project.

   • Selected: To copy only the selected project components from the source project to the target project.

9. To validate the project component copy, select Test.

   A pop-up window displaying the test result appears.

10. Perform one of the following as required:

    • If the validation is successful, select OK.

      The pop-up window closes.

    • If the validation is not successful, select OK, and select the Details tab for more information. Perform the necessary actions and validate the copy again.

11. Select Copy.

    The number of project components that are copied, not copied, and included in the copy are listed in the Summary tab. For more information, see the Details tab.

    The project component is copied from the source project to the target project.

12. To close the d0027 Copy Project Component to Project dialog, select Exit.

13. (Optional) To modify the copied project component according to your requirements, perform the following:

    1. In the Current Project control block, from the Project dropdown, select the project ID of the target project.

    2. To refresh the screen, select the F5 key.

    3. In the Project Component grid, select the copied project component, and then modify according to your requirements.

    4. To save the changes, on the Home menu, in the Record group, select Save.
