Create an AVEVA Enterprise Resource Management user and import schema

Prerequisites

Before you begin, complete the following:

  1. Initialize the database using the Deployment Manager, see Create AVEVA Enterprise Resource Management Administrator Schema on the Database.

  2. Record the path from the ERM Dump Directory Path.

  3. Acquire an Oracle export file containing the training database matching the version of AVEVA Enterprise Resource Management by contacting AVEVA support.

  4. Copy the AVEVA Enterprise Resource Management training database export file to the physical folder mentioned in the ERM Dump Directory Path.

  5. Create an AVEVA Enterprise Resource Management application database schema, see Create AVEVA Enterprise Resource Management Application Database Schemas.

To create AVEVA Enterprise Resource Management user and import schema

  1. To start AVEVA Enterprise Resource Management deployment manager, in the AVEVA Enterprise Resource Management installation package, from the DeploymentManager folder, below the InstallTools, run Aveva.Erm.DeploymentManager.exe.

    The AVEVA ERM Deployment Manager 1.3.0.0 dialog appears.

  2. Select Import Database Schema.

  3. Enter the relevant details in the fields as required.

    Field

    Description

    ERM Admin Password

    The password for the ERMADMIN user entered while running the Initialize Database procedure.

    TNS Alias / EZ Connect

    The TNS Alias name of the database. You can view the TNS Alias in the tnsnames.ora file in the Oracle client. The value in the TNS Alias field is also EZCONNECT string (<host>:<port>/<service-name>).

    Oracle Data Pump Directory

    The logical name of the ERM datapump directory.

    Dump File

    The name of the dump file without suffix.

    From Schema

    The name of the core schema in the dump file. The dump file is either supplied by AVEVA or is exported from an existing PROD, TEST or TRAIN schema.

    To Schema

    The name of an empty schema created while running the Create Database Schema procedure.

    To Schema Password

    The password for the To Schema field schema user.

    From Custom Schema

    The name of the custom schema in the dump file. The dump file is either supplied by AVEVA or is exported from an existing PROD, TEST or TRAIN schema.

    To Custom Schema

    The name of an empty custom schema. (add context)

    To Custom Schema Password

    The password for the To Custom Schema field schema user.

    ERM Role

    The role created while running the Create Database Schema procedure.

  4. Select Import.

    A terminal pop-up window appears running the command.

  5. When the install is complete, in the terminal, enter exit.

  6. Select the Enter key.

    The AVEVA Enterprise Resource Management user is created and the schema is imported.

    Note: Ensure to verify the training database.
