Steps in the Pivot and Transfer process

The following are the steps involved in employing Pivot and Transfer to transfer records from the source to the target system:

1. Open the Advanced Database Editor (ADE) from the source system.

2. Open the Table Edit dialog box (source) that contains the records you want to transfer.

3. Using the ADE filter, retrieve the records that you want to transfer.

   Pivot and Transfer will transfer all the retrieved records in the source Table Edit dialog box to the target.

4. Select Tools > Pivot and Transfer.

   The System Selector dialog box appears.

5. In the Select Target System field, select a valid target system from the list.

6. Select Transfer.

7. ADE connects to the target system, and the target system returns the records.

8. ADE composes the form for the target system.

9. ADE copies data from the source to the target form.

10. An Administrator performs any required updates on the transfer data.

11. An Administrator commits the changes to the target system.
