Configure Inter-System Publish/Subscribe (ISPS) connectivity

By default, the Inter-System Publish/Subscribe (ISPS) connections dictate that a system starting with a higher order character will send a connection request to the system starting with a lower order character. For example, zetaSystem will send a connection request to alphaSystem.

If a system will not accept incoming requests, then you should initiate the ISPS connection. For example, a system with a firewall blocking externally initiated connections will not accept a connection request from a system located in the demilitarized zone. Therefore, a system named UnsecureSystem would, by default, attempt to connect to a system named SecuredSystem and the connection would fail.

To configure the ISPS connectivity

  1. Open the Network Management Console (NMC).

  2. Right-click the Systems node and select Configure ISPS Connectivity.

The ISPS System Connectivity dialog appears, and includes a list of systems that you can check to initiate an outgoing connection.

  3. Check the system from the table that displays to initiate an outgoing connection.

For example, in the image above, the es system will send a connection request to the main system.

  4. Select OK.

  5. Restart the ISPS services on all systems that are affected by your changes.

For redundant configurations, ensure that both ISPS services are restarted.

Note: When you change the configuration of systems that cross non-trusted domain boundaries, the same change must be performed using a server on each of the systems. The system and ISPS configuration is not replicated across non-trusted domain boundaries.
