Note: For information on overriding default configuration settings, refer to Modify configuration settings.

Edit the Historical configuration settings file to add additional Microsoft SQL Server databases for monitoring by the Historical service. In the Network Management Console (NMC), you can view the status of database monitoring under the Historical service Database Status node.

To configure the list of databases to monitor

  1. In the %DNADataRoot%\Historical\config\Settings directory, either create or open the Historical.json file.

  2. In the file, either add an additional database or disable baseline databases from monitoring.

    In the example below, the ProjectDatabase database was added, and the Control Room Management (CRM) database was removed from monitoring.

    {

    "Historical": {

    "DatabasesToCheck": {

    "CRM": false,

    "ProjectDatabase": true

    }

    }

    }

    Important: Ensure the case of the database as it appears in the Historical.json file matches the case of the actual database you want to monitor.

  3. Restart the Historical service.
