The Main tab in the rate Row Edit dialog box is used to set up the basic properties of the record such as group, dataset and input type.
The Main tab in the rate Row Edit dialog box also gives you access to the Historical database (HDB) via the Historical button. Refer to the table below for field descriptions and instructions on how to configure the editable fields.

Items on the Main tab in the Rate Row Edit dialog box
Items |
Description |
|---|---|
Name |
Select (...) and select the name of the rate record from the Rate Select dialog box. |
Description |
Enter a description of the record. The Description can be up to 47 characters in length. This field is for information purposes only and can be used to describe the record, its association with other points, or any other textual information. The Name and Description configured for a record appear in the summary tables in easy eXtended Operator Station (ezXOS). |
Commissioning Required |
Select the Commissioning Required checkbox when the point is ready to be commissioned. When this checkbox is selected, the point will appear in the Point Verification Summary. This checkbox will be cleared after the point has been commissioned. |
Point Type |
Select the type of point that this record is representing. The choices are:
Group |
Select (...) and select the name of the group this record belongs to from the Group Select dialog box. Groups are assigned to closely related records. |
Remote |
Select (...) and select the name of the remote associated with this record from the Remote Select dialog box. This field must be configured if the Point Type is set to telemetered. |
Station |
Select (...) and select the name of the station you want to associate with this record from the Station Select dialog box. For further information, refer to Station Monitoring. |
Point Class |
The Point Class category contains multiple configuration enumerations used for categorical configuration of points. For further information, refer to Configure msginfo sets. |
Point SubClass |
Point Sub Class is a configurable enumeration category used for categorical configurations, but you cannot use this for configurable alarms and events. For further information, refer to Configure msginfo sets. |
Dataset |
Select (...) and select the name of the dataset you want to associate with this record from the Dataset Select dialog box. A dataset contains privileges assigned for each system and mode. Once a record is assigned to a data set value, the dataset can only be changed to a value for which the system has a privilege record. A record’s dataset can not be changed in such a way that the system can no longer access the record. |
Base Message |
Select (...) and select the message associated with the record from the Message Select dialog box. |
Short Description |
Enter the text that appears next to the point's dynamic data field on the station display. |
Well Unit |
This field is used by Display Framework, a separately-acquired product. |
Mapping Flag |
Enter the 32-bit integer value to map this point to a non-AVEVA Enterprise SCADA system. For further information, refer to Map points with other systems. |
N value |
Enter the number of readings that the Jitter Smoothing application should use in calculating the arithmetic mean. For further information, refer to Jitter Smoothing. |
Minimum (EGU) |
Enter the instrument’s lower raw operating limit. The Engineering Unit (EGU) range represents the range of rate values expected for the point. This range should be set regardless of whether or not the rate is telemetry (an analog input), or calculated based on pulse counts over time (a pulse input). |
Maximum (EGU) |
Enter the instrument’s upper raw operating limit. The EGU range represents the range of rate values expected for the point. This range should be set regardless of whether or not the rate is telemetry (an analog input), or calculated based on pulse counts over time (a pulse input). |
Source of Data |
Select the input for the rate device. The rate table can receive two different inputs: an analog value, which represents a rate calculated at the remote and/or accumulator and a pulse input value, which represents the accumulated quantity at the remote. One is derived from the other if only one type of input is specified. The choices for this field are: Pulse input. The remote sends a pulse count value representing the quantity accumulated over time. The change in pulse counts between rate calculations is used to compute the rate in units per hour. The system checks for rollover of the pulse counter when calculating the rate. This option requires you to configure the pulse inputs. Analog input. The remote sends an analog input that represents the rate in units per hour. This option requires you to configure the analog inputs. Pulse & Analog. The remote sends both analog value (representing the rate) and pulse count (representing accumulated quantity). This selection requires you configure both analog and pulse inputs. |
Use Device Based Questionable DQ |
Select to alert downstream krunch processes that, when said processes krunch the current value of the point, freshness should be based on the data quality from the field. |
Replication Deadband |
Enter a deadband value. Whenever the analog input value or accumulator value moves beyond this deadband, the values are replicated to other hosts via the function subscription RATERT. To enable replication to occur unconditionally, enter a negative value. Note: Unconditional replication of rate points can have an adverse effect on replication load. |
Priority Display |
Specify the graphic you want to be associated with the priority display button on an ezXOS Control dialog box. |
Display Order |
This field is used for display purposes. It would only be used if the nomination information were being represented on a station template object. It is only relevant to systems that have this optional software component. Unless you specifically use the Display Framework, the value is not used. The default value is "0". |
Sub-Remote Status Indicator |
Select (...) and select the status point serving as a Sub- Remote Status Indicator stale point. For further information, refer to Sub-Remote Status Indicator. |
Historical |
Select to open the collect Table Edit dialog box that can be used to configure Historical data collection. |
