Flexible Data Attributes

  • Last UpdatedNov 02, 2023

The Flexible Data Attributes feature enables you to pick images for attributes that will be shown in each of the data attribute icons on the Control Room Management (CRM) objects. This allows CRM objects to accurately represent point metadata to the Controller based on API-1165 and Abnormal Situation Management (ASM) recommended practices and company standards without the need of using composites or Visual Basic (VB) code.

With Flexible Data Attributes, you can also assign the precedence or priority of appearance for that attribute within its icon relative to other attributes that may occupy the same icon.

Configuration is done by editing the Attribute table in the Advanced Database Editor (ADE). Once you open the table, you can edit the default configuration and define your own attributes.

AVEVA Enterprise SCADA 2020 includes a preconfigured set attributes that matches the legacy behavior of attribute icons included in summaries, Generic Text, and Device Icon objects but with the icon order predefined for CRM objects (for example, Alarm, Quality, Tag). It also includes a new attribute to support the new showControllability feature. For further information, refer to the AVEVA Enterprise SCADA HMI Display Builder documentation.

In the following sections we describe how to:

  • Define your own attributes.

  • Select whether the data driving that attribute is inverted or not within the database (whether 0 is True or False).

  • Assign the precedence for that attribute within its icon.

  • Assign the image file for that attribute.

  • Assign the icon the image will appear in.
