Build custom applications

Requirements

In addition to WiX Toolset, the following requirements are specific to building custom applications:

• Visual Studio

• NET Framework

• Platform Toolset

• Windows SDK

To include a new solution in build.xml

1. Open the build.xml file at the root of the Development environment workspace.

2. Locate the <ItemGroup Label=”Solutions”> element and verify that it contains the list of solutions you want to build.

3. In the Windows Search box, enter the following:

   Developer Command Prompt for VS 2019

4. Press Enter.

   The Visual Studio Developer Command Prompt window opens.

   

5. Change the working directory to your product workspace.

   

6. Execute the following command:

   msbuild build.xml
