Convert RealTime to PI Tag data types

When a point is configured in the PI Server, its point type must be selected and cannot be changed afterward. When the PI-OASyS Interface retrieves data from the RealTime Database (RTDB), the data must be converted to the appropriate target type before it is sent to the PI Server.

The following is the list of data types in the PI Server that the PI-OASyS interface supports:

• Digital: used for point whose value can only be one of several discrete states (for example:status open/close).

• Int16: 15-bit unsigned integers (0 to 32767).

• Int32: 32-bit signed integers (-2147450880 to 2147483647).

• Float16: floating point values, scaled. The accuracy is one part in 32767.

• Float32: single-precision floating-point values (IEEE floating points).

• Float64: double-precision floating-point values (IEEE floating points).

• String: strings up of to 976 characters.

The following is the list of RTDB data types that the PI-OASyS interface supports and can be converted to one of the supported PI Tag types:
