Use

The use stored procedure is used to override the default database given by the connection. This allows you to shorten the database specification string from database.dbo.table to table when composing Microsoft SQL.

Syntax

use (‘database’)

Example

Without using use, a statement would look like:

select currentTemp from weather.dbo.Calgary;

Using use, a statement would look like:

Call use (‘weather’);

select currentTemp from Calgary;
