CreateCMXRepSubscriptions

After privileges have been defined, replication subscriptions are configured to specify the data that is shared between connected systems. Use createCMXRepSubscriptions.exe to complete this task.

The subscriptions used to replicate privileges for the dataset are built from template subscription files based on the subscription syntax defined within the Business Object Reference.

As shown in the Primary and Multiple Backup Systems Configuration Example, both BAC1 and PRI have privilege records naming the West dataset. Hence, data for the West dataset must be replicated between BAC1 and PRI, as both can assert privileges over that dataset in certain modes. The createCMXRepSubscriptions executable inserts subscriptions between the BAC1 and PRI systems.

To see the full set of options for createCMXRepSubscriptions, run createCMXRepSubscriptions -h.

The createCMXRepSubscriptions executable examines all privilege records to determine whether or not a subscription should be created between selected systems. If a system is used to pass data through to another system, it requires subscriptions even though the system has no privileges on the connected system. This is why it is sometimes necessary to create a privilege record even though that record may have all privileges disabled: it forces createCMXRepSubscriptions to insert a subscription between systems.

Note: If new datasets or systems are added after an installation is commissioned and running, data for points within datasets will not be automatically replicated. You must complete the steps below to ensure the correct replication of data.

  1. Re-run createCMXRepSubscriptions.

  2. Distribute RealTime to all systems.

  3. Restart all systems.
