When you configure a Setpoint Ramping command for an analog point, all values entered in the Setpoint Ramping dialog box must first pass a set of validation checks before the application allows you to carry out the command. The following validation rules are in place in regards to values entered through the Setpoint Ramping dialog box.

-
The Final Value cannot equal the Current Setpoint.
-
The Final Value cannot fall outside the point's setpoint high and low limits.
-
The Ramp Duration (min) value must be greater than, or equal to, the Minimum Duration (min) value.
-
The Number of steps value cannot be zero.
-
The Number of steps value cannot be so large that it results in an Interval (s) less than the analog point's "Command Timeout" value for setpoints (the Min Interval (s) value).
-
The calculated step interval amount (the Step value) must be greater than, or equal to, the analog point's setpoint tolerance value.
