No Reply Alarm Suppression

This application allows remote no reply and line failure alarms to be suppressed when they are the predictable result of a connection failure. This prevents a flood of nuisance remote alarms from distracting Controllers when a multidrop connection fails.
This is generally used with multidrop lines, where the telemetry network (VSAT, radio, etc.) may have failed without affecting Omnicomm's TCP connection with the terminal server device. As Omnicomm continues to poll the remotes on the failed line, they will each generate a no reply alarm in turn. The application generates a single connection alarm for a failed multidrop line and suppresses all other remote alarms associated with the failure.
At times, remotes on a line may fail to respond for reasons unrelated to line failure. The No Reply Alarm Suppression application does not prevent the generation of alarms for such legitimate alarm conditions.
