The Open Platform Communications (OPC) server allows OPC clients to access RealTime data, as well as data that has been published through the Publish/Subscribe middleware. The server has been certified as OPC compliant for both Data Access V2.05 and Data Access V3 standards.
Since the OPC server provides access to RealTime data, as well as the ability to write data to the RealTime database (RTDB), you must install this server on the RealTime computers (both Hot and Standby). It will run on the Hot RealTime computer.
