Abnormal state alarming is used to represent a status or analog record that is in an abnormal state.
Unless alarming of the state for a given status record is inhibited and the point shifts to an abnormal state, the following occurs:
-
The record goes into alarm.
-
The appropriate computer displays an alarm message.
-
The alarm message is spooled to the event log.
If the alarm represents an abnormal state, it remains in the alarm summary as a non-flashing alarm after it is acknowledged; it is then cleared from the Newest Priority Alarms window. The name of the record, its associated remote, and its description field appear in both the alarm message and the event log.
