Selective application installation

The OASyS DNA SQL Installation Tool is used either to install a complete application or to upgrade parts of an application. An entire application may need to be installed as part of recovery from a catastrophic disk failure. Partial or selective application installation is more commonly required for upgrading or installing software patches. This section describes the selective installation process.
About this task
Selecting the Application Table Configuration Files tab reveals a tree view that shows the applications suites and the constituent applications. Expanding each leaf of the tree exposes more details down to the lowest available level of the individual Microsoft SQL script files.
Beside each node of the tree is a checkbox. Selecting a checkbox instructs the installer to process the corresponding node and all of its children.
To perform a selective application installation
-
Open the OASyS DNA SQL Installation Tool.
-
Select the target server from the Server dropdown menu.
-
Select the product from the Product dropdown menu.
-
Select the Application Table Configuration File tab.
-
Open the application suites and application sub-trees until you find the application or component to be installed.
-
Select the checkbox that corresponds to the application or component.
-
Repeat steps 5 and 6 until you have selected all of the application components that need to be installed.
-
Select Install Selected.
-
When the message box appears, acknowledge it.
-
Select the Installation Log tab to examine any errors that occurred during the installation.
The system writes any errors it encounters to the RDBMSInstallTool.log under the %DNADataRoot%\Historical\log directory.
